Dogs are very welcome in all of our cottages here at Cwm Connell.
Each of our six cottages are different. It's important to us that you and your dog(s) are happy and comfortable in your cottage and that you enjoy your holiday with us. For this reason we limit the number of dogs per cottage as follows;
Ty Twt Cottage suits one small to medium dog, whilst Ger y Llyn and Yr Ffald can comfortably fit up to two large dogs or three medium dogs each. Fron Haul also suits two large or three medium dogs. Bron y Felin Cottage and Yr Ydlan are on the bigger side and would suit up to three large dogs.
If you have more than three dogs please call or email us, we’re happy to discuss your requirements and make sure that you would enjoy your stay with us here at Cwm Connell.
Our cottages have individual private patios and share one large garden. All six of our cottages have an enclosed and gated patio. For this reason we ask visiting dogs to be kept on a short lead when outside. We realise this is restricting so we have adapted and enclosed our four acre paddock next to the cottages. Visiting dogs can be off lead and running around, whilst you sit on the bench and admire the beautiful sea view. Our dog ‘Madra’ loves this space and a bit of ball throwing, that’s her in the picture. We class her as a medium dog.
We do have some necessary rules for visiting dogs. We will accept house trained, non aggressive, sociable dogs only. We request that you don’t allow dogs in the bedrooms or on any of the cottage furniture. We’re happy for you to leave your dog to go out for a meal or a couple of hours away and request that you contain them within the cottage hallways or porches. We don’t like you to leave your dog alone all day, we find most dogs are unhappy to be left and can be very vocal and destructive in their dismay at being left behind. There is a day kennels twenty minutes away and this is their website www.kelsionkennels.co.uk
You can walk 15 minutes from your cottage through the woods to Ceibwr Bay, a pebbly beach with a stream, this beach links onto the Coastal Path. We are also surrounded by bridleways and lanes if you or your dog fancy just a five minute walk!
Cwm Connell to Newport Sands Beach is 10 minutes by car and a great dog walking beach, there are no dog restrictions at this beach. Poppit Sands beach is 5 minutes by car and also a great dog walking beach, the left side of this beach is closed to dogs from May–September, but there is still plenty of space for you and your dog to enjoy. There are quite a few pubs in the area that allow dogs, these are listed in a folder in your cottage.
If there is anything we can do/supply to make your stay more enjoyable or easier then please let us know, we are here to help.
